Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 26, 2026

WenWare is a time travel browser game where players explore immersive 360-degree historical scenes, then guess both when and where the moment takes place. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who We Are

WenWare is the controller of the information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@wen-ware.com.

Information We Collect

WenWare does not ask for your real-world precise location, account password, government ID, payment information, or legal name. Map guesses are guesses about the historical scene, not your current location.

How We Use Information

Legal Bases

Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a service you request to run gameplay, multiplayer, and highscores; legitimate interests to secure, debug, measure, and improve WenWare; consent where required for advertising cookies, personalized ads, or non-essential local storage; and legal obligations where we must preserve or disclose information.

Cookies and Local Storage

WenWare uses browser storage to remember preferences and recent-round state. Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, or similar technologies if ads are enabled. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings, but doing so may reset preferences or recent-round history.

Advertising

WenWare may use Google advertising services, such as Google AdSense, to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to WenWare or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on visits to WenWare and/or other sites on the Internet.

Third-party vendors and ad networks may place or read cookies on your browser, use web beacons, collect IP addresses or other identifiers, serve ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated ads, and help detect fraud or abuse. WenWare does not intentionally send your highscore display name or contact information to Google for ad targeting.

We do not ask you to click ads and we do not intentionally encourage artificial ad views, artificial ad clicks, or other invalid traffic. We may use technical measures and third-party tools to detect, prevent, or report invalid traffic, fraud, bots, spam, or abuse.

You can learn how Google uses data from sites and apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. You can also learn about opting out of some third-party personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

Consent for Ads

Where required by law, including for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, WenWare will request consent before using cookies or local storage for advertising purposes or before collecting, sharing, or using personal data for personalized ads. Where a consent tool is shown, you can use that tool to make or change your choices.

If ads are enabled, WenWare may use Google's privacy and messaging tools or another consent management platform to collect and communicate consent choices. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized where supported.

Traffic Analytics

WenWare uses traffic analytics to understand aggregate usage, such as page views, requested paths, approximate country, timestamps, game completion events, game mode, time period filter, and score ranges. We use this information to measure traffic, diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and improve the game. We do not use traffic analytics to identify individual players.

Third-Party Content and Links

WenWare may load third-party resources such as map data, open-source JavaScript libraries, encyclopedia summaries, images, widgets, or external links. When your browser requests those resources or you click an external link, the third party may receive information such as your IP address, browser information, referring page, and the time of the request. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

External encyclopedia, map, social, advertising, analytics, and content services may process information independently under their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing Information

We may share information with service providers and partners that help operate, secure, analyze, improve, or monetize WenWare. These categories may include infrastructure and security providers, analytics providers, database providers, advertising partners, map or content providers, and support tools. We may also disclose information if required by law or if necessary to protect WenWare, players, or our rights.

International Processing

WenWare is available globally. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, and those countries may have different data protection laws.

Data Retention

Your Choices and Rights

To make a privacy request, contact contact@wen-ware.com. We may need enough information to verify and process your request. We do not maintain user accounts, so some requests may be limited if we cannot reasonably connect information to you.

Children

WenWare is not directed to children under 13. Users under 13 should not submit highscores or provide personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will review the request.

Sensitive Information

WenWare does not ask for sensitive personal information such as government IDs, financial account information, health information, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, biometric identifiers, or precise real-world location. Do not put sensitive information in a highscore display name.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information and regularly review our security practices.

Changes

We may revise this Privacy Policy as WenWare evolves. The effective date above reflects the current version.
